Get Started?

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you have a child you would like to refer, please email us at BBBS@dutchessCAP.org or call us at the number below.

Call our main number (845) 437-0222 and ask to speak to a Big Brothers | Big Sisters Representative or complete this simple application and we will contact you.....

After the initial referral/inquiry is received, our staff will schedule an orientation meeting and interview. An application will be mailed to you. The application is to be completed and submitted by the time of the orientation meeting.

Orientation meetings can occur at the agency or in your home. When orientation occurs in the home, we combine the visit with the interview, for your convenience. If you attend an orientation meeting at our agency, then we will schedule the interview at your home on a separate date.

In the community based and mentoring children of promise programs, we obtain a copy of the volunteers’ driver’s license and insurance information for our records. We then complete a criminal background check. In the site/school based program, we obtain a copy of the volunteer’s driver’s license/non-driver’s identification or equivalent form of picture identification.
